This magnificent 1963 Triumph TR4 is the only vintage eligible for the famous Tour Auto, in which it has participated twice. Its current owner has owned it for almost 20 years, which gives a very complete history. The car has 84,000 km, a mileage estimated by its owner, and is currently followed by the PN Classic Garage (known for its presence in the Vintage Classics program).

On the outside, this Triumph TR4 is distinguished first of all by the presence of a very rare original steel hard-top. The latter, in addition to contributing to the racing look of the car, gives it a very appreciable rigidity during sport sessions. The upper part can be removed to drive in "targa" mode. The removable cover is provided.

As for the paintwork, this English car is in good general condition, although some dents on the rear trunk seem to have been touched up with a corrector (visible on the pictures). The chromes are in excellent condition, only the rear light surrounds are slightly pitted. PN classic indicates that the car is rust free, and pictures of the underbody are available in the gallery.

Inside, the original spirit of the car has been preserved, with two period-style bucket seats with white contours, and a new sports steering wheel (original seats and steering wheel are available). The fire extinguisher, road map holder and great mechanical timing remind us that we are in a race-ready car. The dashboard is original and is in average condition, showing some tears on the foamed imitation and impacts on the painted elements. All the electrical equipment works normally, as does the on-board instrumentation.

The engine is the original one, a 2138cm3 with 4 speed gearbox + overdrive developing 106hp, completely revised and reliable. PN Classic tells us that the heater radiator, the hoses, the fuel pump, the clutch transmitter and receiver as well as the overdrive control are new or rebuilt. The engine has recently been flushed at the Motul V300.

As for the modifications, this Triumph has a sport ignition, a sport air filter, a stainless steel exhaust line and a high flow water pump. Another important point, this car has been negative grounded, in order to be able to connect the onboard electronics (GPS, phones...) and mount it as an alternator.

Concerning the running gear, this TR4 has its five original black spoked wheels (including the spare) in perfect condition and equipped with new Continental Contact tires. The 4 urethane bearings and silentblocks are new. Adjustable spax shocks have been installed, helped by large diameter anti-roll bars at the front and at the rear. The braking system has been completely revised, with a new master cylinder associated with an assistance kit that feeds the Wilwood 4-piston calipers on ventilated discs through braided steel hoses.
The car is sold with many spare parts. The seller accepts visits during the opening hours of the PN Classics garage in Saint-Soupplets (77).
