This 1985 Renault 5 Turbo II 3rd hand from France is one of the 200 produced in type 8221 for rally homologation purposes, and is better known as the "Maxi 5 Turbo" or 'Turbo II Evolution". This version is distinguished by its engine of 1432cm3 against 1397cm3 for the previous versions. This difference in displacement would supposedly allow to reach 180hp, but they were marketed as 160hp. This copy has the engine number 80, while the copy is number 42. It is complete and needs to be reassembled. This car has 70.000 km, a mileage that the owner estimates to be correct but that cannot be verified. The car has a normal French registration.
Outside the car is in good condition. The paint in its original color has some defects and needs to be repainted (chips and tarnishing in particular). The roof of this 8221 version is specific: it is made of aluminum. The car is equipped with a Maxi 5 body kit fitted as soon as it leaves the dealership. The original elements are provided: fenders, trunk, hood, front and rear bumper, as well as the rims. Plastics and exterior seals are in good condition, as well as the headlights. The seller indicates that this 5 Turbo is free of perforating corrosion, except for the rear pillar tops.
The interior is in good condition. The upholstery has no tears or holes but shows signs of sagging. The carpets are in good condition but show stains. The controls and dashboard are in good condition.
The 1432cm3 turbo 4 cylinder, specific to this 8221 version, developed about 180hp when it left the factory, although 160hp are announced. The latter has been disassembled for refurbishment following a failure caused by a broken ignition pinion. The seller indicates that the mechanics are complete and that the engine is the original one. 
The car has its 4 rims from the Maxi kit in very good condition with old tires. The original rims are cracked. Braking and running gear have not been tested. The car is stopped since 10 years.
The seller is a professional located in France in Evian Les Bains (74) and accepts visits during the sale.

Payment

Delivery
