This superb 1977 Peugeot 104 ZS is the ideal tool to start historical rallies. Pascal, its current owner, owner of Garage PN Classic (which you can follow on Vintage Mecanic) has accumulated over the years a large stock of parts, and maintained the car in perfect condition. This little lioness has 130.900km on the odometer, although this mileage does not correspond to the 1360cc engine currently fitted.
The bodywork of this 104 is in excellent condition, the original beige pearl color having kept its beauty. The bodywork shows no trace of rust, confirmed by the pictures taken from the underbody (available in the gallery). The car is equipped with 4 functional long-range headlights, perfect for the night stages.
The interior has been completely emptied, and equipped with two bucket seats with harnesses. A roll bar has been bolted on to ensure safety and rigidity, and leaves free access to the trunk. The dashboard is original but has been fitted with a control panel with circuit breaker. All the electrical equipment works normally, as does the on-board instrumentation.
The engine currently mounted, a 1360 with a 5-speed gearbox developing 80hp (the original 1124 engine with a 4-speed gearbox is supplied), has been completely overhauled (all fluids changed, all filters, complete ignition, clutch) and has since covered 200km. The idle is stable and the revs are frank until the maximum rpm.
As for the running gear, this 104 has 4 new shocks in original configuration and 4 almost new tires. This gives it a healthy road holding and conforms to the original feeling. The braking system is described as performing, aviation hoses have been fitted to improve its endurance. The four 6 inch rims are period ones. The owner indicates that he provides 4 engines and 24 additional wheels.
The car is sold with, in addition, a Talbot Samba GLS (HS body) with a registration card as a donor and a substantial stock of advance parts, the complete list being extremely long here is a non-exhaustive extract :
