This Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato 1300 was one of the first 200 to be built with aluminium doors on the 1108. It was built on 8 April 1970 and sold in Italy in the town of Aosta on 22 April 1970. It then remained in Italy for 10 years in the hands of its 1st owner before being bought by a specialist Zagato dealer, Franco Macri. He kept it in England for 3 years before selling it in France in 1983. Acquired in 2011 by its current owner, it has covered 8,000 km in 7 years. It's a 5th hand.

The car was fully restored by a professional coachbuilder in 2012. The side members, rocker panels, floorboards, front and rear skirts and engine bay have all been redone. The body no longer shows any traces of rust. Photos of the restoration are available in the gallery. The owner has approximately €8,000 worth of bodywork. The chrome, seals and exterior plastics are in new condition. The paintwork is the original colour and has no defects.

Inside, the car has benefited from a complete restoration of the upholstery and carpets, which are in as-new condition. The interior plastics and dashboard trim are in perfect condition. It is fitted with a smaller, tulip-shaped Junior Zagato 1600 steering wheel, which is the only element that differs from the original. The original steering wheel is supplied. The instrumentation and on-board equipment function normally.

The mechanics of this Junior Zagato were also fully restored 2,000 km prior to its purchase by the current owner. The gearbox was opened and completely overhauled. The seller has nearly €20,000 in invoices. The restoration was carried out by VEC Racing, an Alfa Romeo specialist. The engine has since covered 14,000km. The car has just been serviced (less than 500km) and has a bill of €3,400.

As far as the running gear is concerned, everything is in new condition: discs, pads, tyres and dampers are all new. The car drives perfectly, with no abnormal noises. The engine works perfectly, with a stable idle and straightforward revs.

The car is being sold with all its documentation and invoices. The car can be seen at the Rétromobile show from 7 to 11 February (stand 3E036), and later in Boulogne (92100). The seller is a private individual and has decided to set a reserve price.
