This 1983 Renault 5 Turbo II is a 3rd hand car from France, it has 157.650km. The first owner kept it for 17 years, while the current owner has owned it for 10 years. This model is distinguished by its "vintage" engine preparation of about 260 hp. The current owner, a mechanic by profession, has refurbished the entire engine. This car has been driven less than 4.000 km since then. The car has a normal French registration.
On the outside the car is in excellent condition. The paint in its original red color has only a few minor flaws visible in the gallery. The seller indicates that this 5 Turbo is free of corrosion, having been fully restored by the previous owner (photo file available).
The interior is in very good condition. The buckets have no tears or holes but show signs of sagging. The steering wheel and dashboard are very well preserved and show no visible patina. On the modification side, a 6-point bolt-on roll bar has been installed.
The 4 cylinder of 1397cm3 developed 160 hp when it left the factory. This one has been disassembled and prepared to about 260 hp. The seller indicates that the engine is the original one, but modified. The mechanics have been completely rebuilt less than 4,000 km ago. Among the works (documented in photos) are:
- New injectors
- Modified injection 160 ml/30s per injector (against 100ml original)
- Clutch and receiver
- Revised cylinder head and new valves
- Spheroidal graphite iron liners GR600
- Camshaft 265
- New starter
- New alternator
- All oil and cooling hoses replaced with silicone
- New radiator and exchanger
- Oil change done this year with Motul 300
- Complete overhaul of the gearbox
The car has been fitted with a vintage replica "Devil" muffler.
The car has 4 Renault Sport replica rims in very good condition with new Toyo T1R tires. The brakes have been completely rebuilt: new master cylinder, avia hoses and 4 grooved and drilled discs have been installed. All the silentblocks have also been replaced by harder ones.
The seller is a private individual located in France in Saint Denis Catus (46) and accepts visits during the sale. The car is sold with its complete restoration file, its vintage repair manual (in digital version) and its certificate of authenticity.
The seller wished to define a reserve price.

How the auctions work
A credit card is required to bid, although nothing is charged at the time. Bids are immediately raised to the amount entered.
The highest bid is automatically selected. However, all the offers made remain valid for 4 working days and can be accepted at any time during this period.
Bidding is binding. We do not accept any withdrawal of bids. Any retraction is sanctioned by a fee of 6% of the amount bid, including VAT. with a minimum of 329€ TTC.
Visits of the vehicle
Buyers have the opportunity to view the vehicle during the entire sale, nous contacter to make an appointment.
Payment
At the end of the auction: The winner is automatically charged a service fee of 3% of the final price (minimum €179 incl. VAT) by credit card.
Within 10 days: The winner must pay the sales price by bank transfer. The payment is secured by our partner Paycar.
Delivery
Unless otherwise specified, the buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle from the seller. Benzin is able to offer an optional delivery service, nous contacter (specify the vehicle you are interested in and your location).
No Surprises Guarantee
Benzin is able to cancel the transaction and refund a portion of the sale fee if the vehicle has a major defect not reported in the delivery ad. See Conditions.
