This R5 GT Turbo was acquired 5 years ago by the current owner, a professional body builder. He undertook a complete restoration of the car while making important modifications such as the installation of a 2.0l turbo engine of Mégane 2 RS.
On the outside, the car looks great thanks to its new paint. The seller says he reproduced the reinforcements of the R5 GT Turbo during the restoration of the chassis. The body was then completely repainted in the tungsten grey color. All exterior accessories like headlights, lights or indicators are in new condition. The body joints are new.
The interior has been emptied and rearranged with the removal of the rear bench seats and the addition of two Recaro bucket seats from Mégane 3 RS. A vintage Devil roll bar of R5 GT Coupe origin was bolted and welded. The seller indicates that this was installed following the plans of the Renault 5 GT Coupe. The dashboard, console and door panels remain original. The driver's window is manually operated while the passenger window is electric. An instrument cluster has been installed in addition to the original instrument cluster to retrieve engine information, as the original meters are only partially functional. A multimedia station has been installed on the original console.
The seller installed a 2.0l turbocharged Mégane 2 RS engine that developed 225hp when it left the factory. This one remained in its original configuration, receiving only a conical air filter, exhaust and custom management. The engine was completely disassembled and refurbished, including segmentation, connecting rod bearings, gaskets etc. The 5 speed manual gearbox has been custom stepped for this configuration, and is accompanied by a quaife autoblocker.The clutch is new. The clutch is new. The mechanics are said to work perfectly.
The car is equipped with 4 Speedline SL 676 wheels with new Toyo T1-R tires. Braking is provided by Brembo 4-piston calipers from 406 Coupé V6 at the front and original calipers at the rear. Pads and discs are new. Bilstein B14 threaded shocks have been installed at the front and Bilstein shocks at the rear. The silentblocks are powerflex type. The seller indicates that the car has a very playful but healthy behavior.
The seller is a private individual located in France in Vaujours (93410) and accepts visits during the sale.
The latter specifies that although the car is mobile and registered in France, it is not authorized to circulate on the public highway in its current state due to the engine change.

Delivery
