If a mini-Rolls is a concept that escapes you, you should know that this is exactly what Austin did with its Vanden Plas subsidiary in the 1960s. The result? This cute little English car with all the interior refinement of the big boys. This French example, sound and with a superbly refurbished interior, is up for grabs to discover this very English recipe.
This 1965 Austin Vanden Plas Princess 1100 is a 2nd hand from France and has 59,550 km. This Mini was originally acquired by the daughter of the CEO of a very large company, then stopped for some twenty years before being sold to the current owner in 2014.
Externally, this Austin Vanden Plas is in average condition. The original paintwork is fine, but shows numerous defects such as scratches. The bodywork is in average condition, showing no perforating corrosion but numerous dents and scuff marks. The headlights and windows are in very good condition. Chrome is in very good condition, with only the grille showing a dent in the center.
The interior is in very good condition. The leather upholstery has been completely redone by the Pardini saddler and is in excellent condition, showing no signs of use. The woodwork is in excellent condition, having also been redone. Carpets and other upholstery are in good condition. Interior equipment and on-board instrumentation are said to function normally.
The mechanics are said to be in very good condition. The 1.1-litre in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine developed 50bhp when it left the factory. The seller reports that the engine starts well both hot and cold, and seems to have all the power it needs. The 4-speed manual gearbox is said to work perfectly.
The car has its 4 original rims in good condition, fitted with tires in good condition (dot 2014). The hydrolastics suspension works very well. The car is said to roll and brake perfectly, without making any abnormal noise.
The seller is a private individual located in Boulogne (92100), France, and accepts visits during the sale. The seller indicates that the vehicle's roadworthiness test will be repeated for the sale, as the last one, 2 years ago, was clean.
