This 1993 Mazda MX-5 NA is a limited edition "Black Miata" from Canada and is a third hand. It has 130,043 km on the odometer, which is a fair estimate based on the condition and documentation provided. The seller is a private individual who bought the car 2 months ago in order to do some renovation work. The car is now for sale following this. This MX-5 has German papers, but the seller cannot guarantee the French registration without a DREAL/UTAC passage. The buyer should inquire beforehand. Registration in Belgium is however possible.
On the outside, this MX-5 is in very good condition. The original black paint shows very well, with only a few traces of use, including a small crack on the trunk and a 3cm scratch on the hood (see pictures). The body alignments are excellent. There is no rust on the bodywork. A repair has been properly done on the left rear fender (see pictures). The other parts of the body and the underbody have been treated against rust. All joints and plastics are also in very good condition, without any discoloration or cracks. The black soft top is functional and in very good condition with no stains or tears except for a very slight tear in the lower left corner of the window. The latter is also equipped with the optional heated glass window and its original beige soft top cover.
The interior is also in good condition. It is entirely in its original configuration except for the audio system. The caramel leather seats have been treated and re-dyed. The seller reports that the driver's seat has some cracks, including a repaired but visible tear (see photo). The plastics and dashboard trim are in very good condition, although there are a few scratches on the dashboard. This limited edition is distinguished by the presence of chrome inserts on the door panels, in excellent condition, and specific door sills. The airbag steering wheel has no patina. The instrumentation and electrical equipment are said to function normally. This limited edition is equipped with a cruise control, and speakers integrated in the seats.
Mechanically, this model is equipped with a 4 cylinder 1.6l engine developing 115hp when it leaves the factory. The engine is fully original and has been completely serviced with all filters and fluids (including gearbox and axle) as well as a replacement of the timing belt and water pump less than 1,000 km ago. The mechanics are said to be in excellent condition and do not emit any abnormal noise. The gearbox works well, the gears shift without any hitch and lock up well. The clutch has just been replaced (see gallery).
On the ground, this MX-5 has 4 ATS rims in good condition, even if they have some varnish pitting. The Vredestein tires are in good condition. This model is equipped with the optional VLSD axle and ABS.
