This Beetle type "Baja Rallye Raid" from 1972 has been fully restored and prepared by a Porsche/Volkswagen professional. Six months of work were necessary and 14.000€ of expenses (invoices and file available). This VW has participated in two Rally Raids: Bab el Raid and the historic Paris Dakar Rally. Its vintage and its preparation allow it to run in particular the Paris-Peking Rally, the Bab el Raid and the Rallye des Pionniers (Historic Paris Dakar Rally). It has 36,000 km, although this mileage does not coincide since the restoration.
Outside, this Cox is in excellent condition. The matte blue Gulf paint shows very well, although it has some light chips and scratches. During its preparation in 2012, the car was completely stripped, chassis and body treated. This beetle is therefore rust free except for a spot on the driver door. The front and rear hoods are made of fiberglass. The headlights are in perfect condition, and the long range lights are functional.
Inside, the two buckets are in perfect condition and all the instruments are said to work normally although the meters are currently disconnected because of noise. A Terratrip 202+ GPS, a cigarette lighter and a fire extinguisher have been installed. The car is equipped with a removable 4-point roll bar.
On the mechanical side, the 1600cc 4-cylinder flatbed engine with dual intake develops about 80hp. This last one has been reinforced with a sleeve and pistons kit. A Bocart carburetor has been installed, as well as an electronic ignition. The seller indicates that the battery, the fuel pump, and the spark plugs are new. An engine and gearbox oil change has just been done.
On the road side, this Cox has been equipped with 4 Koni shock absorbers. It is equipped with 4 FEDIMA road approved tires (50% dirt 50% road) and a spare tire. The seller indicates that this Beetle behaves very well on the dunes.
The car is visible in France at La Chapelle en Serval (60), the seller accepts visits. This Cox is sold with a French registration and a technical control will be passed for the sale.

How the auctions work
A credit card is required to bid, although nothing is charged at the time. Bids are immediately raised to the amount entered.
The highest bid is automatically selected. However, in case the reserve price is not reached, the seller has 48 hours to select a bid among the bidders.
Bidding is binding. We do not accept any withdrawal of bidding. Any withdrawal is sanctioned by a fee of 6% of the amount bid with a minimum of 300€ TTC.
Visits of the vehicle

Payment
At the end of the auction: The winner is automatically charged a service fee of 3% of the final price (minimum 150€ VAT included).
Within 15 days: The winner must pay the sale price by bank transfer. The payment is secured by our partner Paycar.
Delivery
Unless otherwise specified, the buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle from the seller. Benzin is able to offer an optional delivery service, nous contacter (specify the vehicle you are interested in and your location).
