This 1978 Mercedes 230C is a second hand car of French origin. The second owner acquired it from his doctor in 1980 and kept the car until today before selling it to the current seller. The car has 195,074 km, a fair estimate.
On the outside, this Mercedes 230C is in good condition. The midnight blue paint shows well but has several flaws, including scratches on the left side, cracks on the hood and corrosion bubbles in different places (see gallery). The bodywork is in good condition, without any major deformation, but shows some perforating corrosion at different places, notably: the driver's door sill, the left front rocker panel, the left rear fender sill, the right rear fender (top and bottom), the right trunk bottom and the right front skirt sill. The chromes are in very good condition, as well as the headlights. The seals are in good condition, showing only a few cracks.
The interior is in good condition. The original upholstery is in good condition, the driver's seat however shows a break in the seams on the bottom of the backrest. The carpets and headliner are in very good condition. The vinyl upholstery is in good condition, although it shows some tears and stains. The dashboard and controls are in very good condition. The car is equipped with functional power windows.
The mechanics are in good condition. The 4 cylinder 2.3 carburetor developed 109hp when it left the factory. The engine has very recently received a new head gasket and new valves, work done by the previous owner's mechanic. The seller indicates that the engine runs well, starting well both hot and cold, but needs a carburetor adjustment (idle lacks smoothness when cold and smells of gasoline). The automatic transmission works perfectly, shifting smoothly.
The car has its original rims with hubcaps in good condition with very old tires (dot 1990 at the rear and 1986 at the front). The brakes are said to work properly.
The car retains its original keys with duplicates. The seller is a professional located in France in Livry-Gargan (93190) and accepts visits during the sale. The car has a favorable technical control dated January 2019.

How the auctions work
A credit card is required to bid, although nothing is charged at the time. Bids are immediately raised to the amount entered.
Bidding is binding. We do not accept any withdrawal of bidding. Any withdrawal is sanctioned by a fee of 6% of the amount bid with a minimum of 300€ TTC.
Visits of the vehicle

Payment
At the end of the auction: The winner is automatically charged a service fee of 3% of the final price (minimum 150€ VAT included) by credit card.
Within 15 days: The winner must pay the sales price to the seller. The secure payment by Paycar is free for Benzin buyers. Seller and buyer can agree to use another payment method.
Delivery
Unless otherwise specified, the buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle from the seller. Benzin is able to offer an optional delivery service, nous contacter.
