Le Mans Classic 2025: we tell you all about it.

This weekend, we left the office for the track. We headed for Le Mans Classic 2025, the temple of vintage and singing engines. Some of the team were there, so it was a chance to catch up with friends, soak up the sun and fill up on noise, cold beers... and grilled pork. par TeamBenzin

Sun, engines and potted meat

This weekend, part of the team took a trip to the Sarthe region of France for Le Mans Classic 2025. As it does every two years, the event brought together enthusiasts of all stripes, from Gulf caps to Alpine combis. And as with every edition, it was good. Very good, in fact. As always, Lorenzo (aka Classic Grid) was there with his trusty VW T2. And as always, the fridge was full: cold beers were waiting for us. Royal.

The atmosphere? Halfway between a vintage garden party and a kid's dream of growing up with posters of 917s and DB5s on the wall.

From the stands to the aperitif

After wandering around the pits and greeting a few mechanical beauties in the paddocks (special mention to a Datsun that smelled of petrol), we headed for the grandstands, opposite the pit straight. There, we paused for a few moments to admire the passing of more noisy than reasonable cars, from Jaguar V12s to Saab 3-cylinder 2-strokes.

And as admiring the cars makes you hungry (it's a proven fact), we settled down with the team and Lorenzo for a well-deserved aperitif, with grilled pork and flageolets on the menu.

Frankly, we could have stopped there. Melting meat, setting sun, drink in hand and the echoes of an old school V8 in the distance. That's what Le Mans Classic is all about.

More than a gathering

What we love here isn't just the staggering array of cars that are worth more than all our possessions put together, but the atmosphere, the people, the mix of purists in Goodwood overalls and families in short pushchairs. And then there's the chance to meet up with familiar faces, chat over a bonnet or a sandwich, discuss the good old days (the ones we never knew, but which we idealise as we should)... that's what Le Mans Classic is all about too.

In a nutshell:

Cars, style, Lorenzo and his vintage van, friends, laps of the circuit in the background, grilled pork and weather that, for once, didn't try to ruin the weekend (except on Sunday... but we were off).

Thanks to everyone we met, to those who stopped by to say hello, and of course to Lorenzo for the warm welcome and the good times.

We'll be back in 2027 for sure.

In the meantime, we'll be getting together to talk engines... and barbecues.
