Benzin Champagne Tour. What if it were you next time?
On the weekend of October 24 and 25, 11 participants joined us for the first rally organized by Benzin in the Paris region. Here’s the story.

Cars
The convoy was rather… heterogeneous. Some, like Alban and Marie, thought it wise to take out a Corvette Stingray roadster in the rain. That’s called courage, or madness, we’re not quite sure. In the “road eagles” category, Thomas and Vanessa strutted around all weekend in their Mustang Bullitt, here too it took courage. We should note that this generation is still equipped with a rigid rear axle, ideal in rainy weather and on country roads, then.
Fortunately, Seb was there to make the colors of France shine, aboard his beautiful 308 GTI. A real chassis, front-wheel drive and just the right amount of power. In short, a car very much from our home, for roads very much from our home.
Among the sports cars, there were our Swiss friends Nico and Clément, aboard their Jag’ F-Type V8 S. We still remember it in our ears.
This rally has such a reach that we were joined all weekend by Elsa and Luis, who came straight from Spain and had rented a cab’ Mercedes for the occasion.
And finally, the Benzin team, which led the convoy with the M3 e46 of Tom and closed it with the Z3 Coupé of David. There had to be at least two BMWs, otherwise it’s not really Benzin.

The activities
Carefully selected, and in partnership with an agency that helped us with the organization, the activities naturally took us to the heart of this beautiful Champagne region, where we decided to taste… champagne.
The first visit was to the Devaux house. A magnificent estate for a prestigious house. We were able to shine in company thanks to the group’s excellent knowledge and its ability to analyze the flavors of a champagne (that’s false).
The second visit, on Sunday, was to a family estate. Nothing like the glitz and glamour of the Devaux house: this house, set in an old Cistercian abbey, aims to be more authentic. Thanks to the house Monial for this wonderful discovery.
Wondering whether we ate? Of course. Saturday lunch took place in a restaurant where a lounge had been reserved for the occasion, with a direct view of the cars. We don’t lose our way at Benzin.

The hotel
We had to sleep well after the roughly 180 km of small roads we covered that day. It was at the Domaine de la Forêt d’Orient that we had turned off our engines for Saturday night. A 4-star hotel with spa, pool, dinner in the evening and a big brunch in the morning.
