This 1968 Porsche 912 SWB Targa "Soft-Window" is a 5th hand with 21,000 km, although the actual mileage is 121,000 km (5 digit counter). The latter is partially certified by its maintenance booklet until 1975, then by invoices until today. It has benefited from an important restoration in 2016 at Seeland Klassiche, Porsche specialist in Germany (see invoices).
This 912 was delivered new on September 1st 1968 in Los Angeles by the authorized Porsche Volkswagen dealer of Downtown L.A. It was kept until 1977 by its 1st owner and then until 2003 by its 2nd. In 2016, its 4th owner sold it to Seeland Klassiche who took care of the restoration and finally sold it to its last and current French owner.
The serial number and the engine number correspond to the original numbers (chassis n°12870325), A Porsche identification certificate is visible in the gallery.
On the outside, the car is in very good condition. The paint in its "Orange Tangerine" color has only a few defects visible in the gallery. The exterior plastics and seals are in good condition, as well as the headlights. Pictures of the underbody are available in the gallery.
The interior is in very good condition. The black leatherette upholstery with "houndstooth" pattern has no tears or holes but shows very slight traces of wear. The steering wheel and the dashboard are in good condition. The instrumentation and the electrical equipment are working normally.
The 1.6-liter Flat 4 developed 90 hp when it left the factory. The seller indicates that the mechanics work normally as well as the manual transmission. The seller has numerous invoices and the logbook. It has had a standard service this year, and was previously serviced by the owner's personal mechanic.
The car has its 4 original rims in good condition, with tires in good condition. The car brakes normally.
The seller is a professional located in France in Paris (75) and accepts visits during the sale. The car will be sold with its French collector's registration, its original "Targa" brochure, the original Blaupunkt radio manual, the owner's manual, the original maintenance booklet and invoices. The seller agrees to provide a favorable CT less than 6 months old for the sale.
