This 1965 Mercedes 220 SEb W111 of French origin will be sold as a restoration project. The Mercedes-Benz Type 111 was the first car in the world to have deformable front and rear structures as well as a padded steering wheel. The car was delivered new in Europe (country code "5"), left hand drive and manual transmission (chassis code "10"). The body code plate indicates that the original paint was a dark blue (code "332 G"). The production number is "00085" and the body number is "02898".

On the outside, the car is partially restored. The bodywork has been primed. Pictures of the undercarriage are available in the gallery, the seller indicates that some traces of corrosion are to be treated.

The interior needs to be restored. The original upholstery was in beige leather. The seller indicates that some elements are missing:
-windows and window regulator mechanisms
-door mechanisms
-a part of the dashboard trim
-the gas pedal pedal
-the electrical harness
-the tachometer cable
-windshield wiper motors

The car is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine from the 230 S sedan which has been restored and for which the invoice of the work is visible. The car is also sold with a standard exchange engine "Tauschaggregat" n° 127.982 (see pictures) in very good condition. Some parts of this engine are missing:
-intake and exhaust manifolds
-the injection pump
-the box support

The car has its 4 original rims with old tires. The braking system needs to be revised.
The seller is a professional located in France in Rouvres (28) and accepts visits during the sale. The car will be sold with its French registration, collection of invoices and its keys.
The vehicle is sold without reserve price.
